Andy LaRoche, who has played in over 400 games with three teams in the Major Leagues, has signed a minor-league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays for the 2013 season with an invite to spring training.

LaRoche, 29, who can play both corner infield positions, appeared in 96 games at the Triple-A level last season with Columbus and Pawtucket, posting a .251 average with 20 doubles, 12 home runs and 41 runs batted in.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound right-handed hitter has played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Pittsburgh Pirates and Oakland Athletics, batting .226 with 22 home runs and 133 RBI over five Major League seasons.

The Blue Jays also announced on Wednesday that righthanded pitcher Sam Dyson has been claimed off of waivers by the Miami Marlins.
