Baseball appears set to return once again to Montreal in 2015 in the form of the Toronto Blue Jays.

According to several media reports, the Blue Jays will play host to a pair of spring training games against Canadian Joey Votto and the Cincinnati Reds. The news was first reported by Jeremy Filosa of 98.5 Sports in Montreal, who said the Pittsburgh Pirates were also very interested in making the trip north to face the Blue Jays.

More than 96,000 fans turned out at Olympic Stadium this past spring to watch a pair of exhibition games between the Blue Jays and New York Mets.

The success of those games caught the attention of Major League Baseball with outgoing commissioner Bud Selig saying recently that Montreal would make "an excellent candidate" for future franchise. Former Expo Warren Cromartie is part of a group called the Montreal Baseball Project attempting to bring major league baseball back to the city.
