Los Angeles Clippers guard-forward Matt Barnes was suspended for one game without pay Friday by the NBA for his flagrant foul on Minnesota’s Gregg Stiemsma.
Barnes will miss Friday night’s game against Toronto, NBA executive vice president of basketball operations Stu Jackson announced.
With 8:26 left in the second quarter of Wednesday night’s game against the Timberwolves. Barnes ran into a high screen set by Stiemsma and then grabbed Stiemsma’s neck and shoved him. Barnes was called for a flagrant II foul.
The Clippers go into Friday’s matchup against the Raptors without Barnes and point guard Chris Paul, who will miss a sixth straight game with a knee injury.
