Toronto Raptor Jonas Valanciunas has been charged with impaired driving, according to a report on Toronto's Newstalk 1010.

The incident involving the 21-year-old, second-year centre took place in Wasaga Beach, Ont. about 2:30 a.m. on Monday after OPP officers responded to a report of a car going through a drive-through with open liquor inside. They deemed Valanciunas to be impaired, and he was charged, according to the report.

The Raptors released a statement late Monday on behalf of the organization:

"We were made aware this morning of the incident involving Jonas Valanciunas and are disappointed he has put himself in this situation. We take this matter very seriously as we have the highest expectations for all members of our organization. At this time we are continuing to gather information and we will comment further when appropriate."
