Canada rolled to three victories against Peru on the opening day of Fed Cup Americas Zone Group 1 on Wednesday.

Toronto's Sharon Fichman, Eugenie Bouchard of Westmount, Que., and Ottawa's Gabriela Dabrowski each won on outdoor clay in the first of three round-robin ties.

Fichman defeated Katherine Miranda 6-2, 6-2 before Bouchard defeated Patricia Ku Flores 6-4, 6-3. Dabrowski and Fichman capped the day with a 6-2, 6-1 doubles victory.

Canada next faces Venezuela on Thursday before finishing Pool A matches Friday against Colombia.

The winner of the pool faces the winner of Pool B — featuring Paraguay, Brazil, Chile and Mexico — to determine the country that advances to the World Group 2 playoffs in April.
