Canadian-born Jason Kokrak carded a final-round 67 Sunday to hold off John Mallinger and capture the Albertson's Boise Open by two strokes.

Kokrak, who was born in North Bay, Ont., but raised in Ohio, got the call on Tuesday morning that he was in the field. He becomes the Nationwide Tour's 10th first-time winner and fourth rookie winner in 2011.

"My goal at the beginning of the year was just to make the Tour Championship," said Kokrak, who moves up to 13th on the money list with the win. "It's always been my dream to play on Tour since I was a kid."

Kokrak played the final 59 holes with only one bogey.

Camilo Benedetti (66), first- and second-round leader Jonas Blixt (67) and veteran Ken Duke (67) tied for third at 15 under, three shots back.

A pair of bogeys down the stretch scuttled David Hearn's chances for victory. The Brantford, Ont., golfer shot a final round 70 - the first time all week he failed to score below 70 - and finished in a tie for sixth, four shots off the pace.

Jon Mills of Belleville, Ont., carded a final round 67 to finish in a tie for 25th - his best result of the season since a tie for second since June 5th.

Jamie Sadlowski of St. Paul, Alta., finished his first career Nationwide Tour event shot a final round 75 to finish at 3-over par, 21 shots back of Kokrak. The two-time world long driving champion led the tournament in driving distance with an average of 349 yards but he also led the tournament with 17 bogeys.
