Toronto Argonauts head coach Scott Milanovich is wasting no time assembling his new staff with the CFL club announcing on Monday the appointment of new defensive and offensive co-ordinators.

As expected Chris Jones has joined the Argos from the Calgary Stampeders and will become Toronto's defensive co-ordinator under Milanovich. Jones has also been given the title of assistant general manager.

The Argos have also named Jonathan Himebauch as the team's new offensive co-ordinator, taking over from Jaime Elizondo.

Himebauch joins the Argos from the ranks of the Montreal Alouettes where he was the offensive line coach.

"I couldn't be more excited to have Chris Jones and Jonathan Himebauch on our staff," said Milanovich, the former offensive co-ordinator for the Alouettes who was named the Argos coach last week. "Chris has a great history of creating extremely aggressive, physical and challenging defences that create turnovers and are difficult for opposing offences to prepare for. He is a players' coach who forms excellent relationships and is a known motivator, getting the very best out of his players.

"Jonathan and I have both worked and played together many times before. I have a lot of faith, trust and familiarity with him and he knows how I like to operate."
