The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed quarterback Justin Goltz and running backs Chris Garrett and Carl Volny on Friday.

All three were scheduled to become free agents in February.

"We are very happy to have Justin, Chris and Carl locked up as we feel all three of them have bright futures ahead of them in this league," Bombers general manager Joe Mack said in a statement. "Justin has been a part of our organization for the better part of three seasons and has progressed tremendously over that time.

"We're very happy to have all three players back in Blue and Gold."

The six-foot-five, 210-pound Goltz appeared in two games last season, completing four-of-eight passes for 39 yards. Goltz is heading into his fourth CFL season with Winnipeg.

The five-foot-seven, 197-pound Garrett missed the entire 2012 season with a torn Achilles tendon. He ran for 576 yards and four TDs during the 2011 regular season before rushing for 190 yards and a TD in leading the Bombers past Hamilton in the East Division final.

Volny, a five-foot-10, 204-pound native of Montreal, has appeared in 20 games over the last two seasons with Winnipeg. The Bombers selected Volny in the fifth round, No. 32 overall, in the 2011 CFL draft out of Central Michigan.
