Winnipeg's new football stadium may not be ready for the Blue Bombers 2012 CFL home opener according to a report by the Canadian Press.

Winnipeg Mayor Sam Katz told Global News that the club now plans to open the season on Labour Day weekend for its annual Banjo Bowl game on September 9.

The Blue Bombers had originally slated to open the stadium for the team's July 26th home opener.

The club is expected to pay back $85-million of the $190-million in construction costs being paid by the province.
