Alexandre Nadeau-Piuze threw for 283 yards and three touchdowns as the No. 7 Montreal Carabins defeated the McGill Redmen 24-13 in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport season opener Thursday.

Nadeau-Piuze hit Felix Prevost with two touchdown passes, including a 33-yard strike, and threw another to Rotrand Sene.

Provost finished with a game-high 96 receiving yards.

Montreal also scored a single to open the scoring, and then capped the scoring in the third quarter with a safety.

McGill quarterback Dallon Kuprowski finished with a game-high 91 rushing yards and ran in the only touchdown for the Redmen.

Kuprowski had less success in the air, throwing a pair of interceptions to go with 253 passing yards.

Austin Anderson added field goals of 48 and 28 yards for McGill.

Montreal goes on the road to face top-ranked Laval next week, while McGill hosts No. 8 Sherbrooke.
