JEFF BLAIR's PREDICTION

B.C. Lions 28, Winnipeg Blue Bombers 12

The Lions are seven-point favourites and it's not hard to see why. They have the edge in significant areas - including quarterback, because as always Buck Pierce's ability to stay healthy will be a question. Expect this to be a statement game for Travis Lulay. If you're looking for a cautionary note, it will be the fast track of a covered B.C. Place Stadium. Jovon Johnson is the league's most dynamic player, and if the Blue Bombers can spring him for a couple of runs they can contend. But this particular game is too much, too fast for the Bombers.

ALLAN MAKI's PREDICTION

B.C. Lions 34, Winnipeg Blue Bombers 21

The Lions get to play on their home track in front of a partisan crowd. More importantly, they've been racing at full throttle for more than two months now and that's allowed them to power up their confidence. As good as the Winnipeg defence is, it will have a rough go against a Lions' attack that features a reliable playmaker (Geroy Simon), a big-play artist (Arland Bruce), a solid running back who can also catch the ball (Andrew Harris) and the CFL's most outstanding player (quarterback Travis Lulay). Lulay has looked cool and comfortable all week. This is his moment; the Lions, too.
