The CEO of the 2015 Pan American Games will meet with Hamilton's mayor this week to discuss the city's decision to build a new stadium downtown.
Ian Troop says he wants to fully understand the city's proposal to build the facility in the West Harbour area of Hamilton.
Following a marathon meeting Tuesday, city council voted in favour of the West Harbour site over one in the East Mountain area.
The location of the new facility had been a controversial issue.
The stadium is supposed to be the new home of the CFL's Hamilton Tiger-Cats after it plays host to the Pan Am Games in August 2015.
But Ticats owner Bob Young wanted the new building at the East Mountian site and pulled his support of the project earlier this week. The move puts the Ticats future in the city in doubt because their lease at aging Ivor Wynne Stadium is up after next season.
Troop says once he has met with Mayor Fred Eisenberger he will sit down with the Pan Am Games board of directors within two weeks to discuss the venue and present a reccommendation.
