Washington Redskins quarterback Colt McCoy rushes the ball past New York Giants middle linebacker Jameel McClain.

The Washington Redskins have placed Colt McCoy on injured reserve with a neck injury, ruling him out for the final two games of the season.

McCoy left the last two games with sprained neck. He was hurt in the first quarter of a 24-0 loss to the St. Louis Rams, then aggravated the injury in the first quarter of Sunday's 24-13 defeat to the New York Giants.

Robert Griffin III replaced McCoy in both games and will start Saturday against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Redskins made the move Tuesday. They replaced McCoy on the roster by promoting linebacker Jackson Jeffcoat from the practice squad.
