Defensive lineman Alex Hall was traded to Saskatchewan on Sunday, dramatically improving the Roughriders’ pass rush.
Saskatchewan gets Hall and a 2014 second-round draft pick from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in exchange for non-import offensive lineman Patrick Neufield and a 2015 fourth-round pick.
The six-foot-six, 256-pound Hall leads the league with 15 sacks. He also has 31 defensive tackles in 13 regular season games.
Last season, Hall was named an East Division All-Star after registering 31 defensive tackles and nine quarterback sacks.
Hall was originally selected by the Cleveland Browns in the seventh round (231st overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft after playing at St. Augustine’s University. He went on to play 32 career regular season games before joining the CFL last year.
