Nick Price can't wait to get back to golfing in Canada — just don't ask him about it en Francais.
"My French is terrible. I'm sorry," he said, laughing.
Price will be among the players competing at the Champions Tour's Montreal Championship on June 18-24. He'll be joined by Mark O'Meara and defending champion John Cook at La Vallee du Richelieu Golf Club in Sainte-Julie, Que.
Price, who is making his debut at the tournament, said family commitment kept him from coming sooner.
"I've always had a real soft spot for Canada," he said on a conference call Wednesday. "I'm excited about coming and I'm just apologetic that I didn't come the last two years, but obviously family comes first at this stage in my life."
Price, who twice won the PGA Tour's Canadian Open in 1991 and 1994, said he's looking forward to competing after missing time with an arm injury.
He hasn't played since April when he withdrew from the Encompass Insurance Pro-Am with two torn tendons in his left forearm.
The 55-year-old, who said he hasn't hit a ball in nearly five weeks, plans on making a comeback at the Principal Charity Classic in Iowa on June 1-3 before playing in Sainte-Julie.
"Canadian golf fans have always been very supportive of me and I've always had such a great welcome there," said Price. "I'm just looking forward to coming back and playing and competing.
"I hope that my game is in good shape by then. ... I'm just hoping that this time off I'll be back to full strength and ready to fire on all cylinders when I get to Montreal."
Price, a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame, had 18 victories on the PGA Tour including six in 1994 when he also took the PGA Championship and the British Open.
He's since won four times on the Champions Tour, the latest coming at the Toshiba Classic in 2011.
