PGA Tour star Dustin Johnson and Canadian LPGA Tour veteran Lorie Kane will be in Richmond Hill, Ont., at the end of the month to help The Summit Golf and Country Club celebrate its 100th anniversary.

The two professionals will play in an 18-hole exhibition on June 25. Two other participants are to be announced soon.

The exhibition will be the cornerstore of The Summit Centenary Invitational, which the club describes as a day-long "celebration of Summit history and the tradition of the great game of golf." The event is only open to Summit members and their guests.

The private course in the Toronto suburb was designed by Canadian architecture icon Stanley Thompson and was ranked No. 79 in ScoreGolf magazine's most recent list of Canada's top-100 layouts.

Its centennial year will also include playing host to The Toronto Star Women's Amateur, one of the country's biggest and most prestigious amateur tournaments, on June 26, the Ontario Men's Amateur in July and Golf Canada's 2012 Golf Fore the Cure (GFTC) National Event on September 24

Johnson, a four-time winner on the PGA Tour, missed a couple of months this year with a back injury but returned to action this past week at the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio. The lanky, long-hitting 27-year-old from South Carolina tied for 19th place.

Kane, 47, of Charlottetown has four LPGA Tour victories to her credit. The most successful female professional in Canadian history is enjoying a renaissance this season after a couple of down years. She tied for 25th place in her most recent outing, Sunday at the ShopRite LPGA Classic in Galloway, N.J., and last week earned a berth in the U.S. Women's Open by winning a qualifying tournament in Maryland.

Ontario golf fans will be able to see Kane play next week, too, when she tees it up in Waterloo at the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic, a new stop on the LPGA Tour.
