John Mallinger

John Mallinger birdied two of his final three holes for a 4-under 67 and a share of the third-round lead with Gary Christian and defending champion Kevin Kisner at the Mylan Classic near Pittsburgh.

Christian rallied with four consecutive back-nine birdies for a 2-under 69 while Kisner's even-par 71 left him right where he began the day, at 13-under par.

Kisner is looking to become the first to successfully defend a title in the Nationwide Tour's 22-year history.

Billy Hurley is in fourth place after a 2-under 69 put him one stroke back. Andrew Svoboda is two shots back and tied for fifth place after a 2-under 69 that featured eight birdies. Georgia's Scott Brown (70) is also at 11-under.

Matthew Richardson of Woodbridge, Ont., birdied three of his final five holes for a third round 71 to leave him 11 shots back.

Rocco Mediate shot 70 and sits at 4-under par.

John Daly, playing on a sponsors exemption, withdrew during the third round due to hamstring injury. Daly started with three straight bogeys and added a triple bogey six on the par-3 fifth before turning in his card.

Due to potential of bad weather on Sunday, the final round will be played in threesomes off the 1st and 10th tees as organizes hope to conclude the tournament around 3 pm ET.
