SHANGHAI, China - The PGA Tour will be partners in a new tour in China that will feature 12 tournaments next year.

PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem informed players at the HSBC Champions about the development. He was to discuss more details at a news conference Sunday at Sheshan International.

The PGA Tour already is involved with two existing tours - Canada and Latin America - that provide access to the top players to the Web.com Tour. The China Tour-PGA Tour China Series is starting from scratch. The plan is for 12 tournaments starting next March, with purses in the range of $200,000.

It also gives the tour a partnership with the China Golf Association. The HSBC Champions became part of the official PGA Tour schedule for the first time this year.
