PGA Tour

There are very few changes in the PGA Tour's 2013 calendar in what is essentially a transition year for the circuit.

The shortened season officially ends in late September as the PGA Tour switches to a new fall start with the 2014 season expected to begin three weeks after the Tour Championship, likely with the Frys.com Open.

Among the notable changes to the 2013 schedule will see The Mayakoba Golf Classic moving from its February slot opposite the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play event down into the fall start of the next FedExCup Season. The Valero Texas Open will move three weeks forward to just before the first major of the season, the Masters, and the off-week during the FedEx Cup playoffs will fall between the second and third events.

The Presidents Cup will be held the week of September 30th, two week's after the conclusion of the Tour Championship, at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.

The RBC Canadian Open is scheduled for the week of July 22nd at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ont., one week after The Open championship.

The Masters, the first major of the season, is scheduled to begin April 11th at Augusta followed by the U.S. Open championship on June 13th at Merion Golf Club in Pennsylvania. The British Open at Muirfield in Scotland begins July 18th and the last of the majors, the PGA Championship, is scheduled for August 8th at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y.

The season-opening Hyundai Tournament of Champions kicks things off January 4th and will once again conclude on a Monday.

Also, with the focus changing from the money list to FedEx Cup points, the winners of the three opposite field events – the Puerto Rico Open, the True South Classic and the Reno-Tahoe Open – will now receive 300 points in 2013, an increase from the previous 250.
