Vijay Singh headlines a list of five additional international stars who have confirmed their entry into the 2012 RBC Canadian Open to be played later this month at Hamilton Golf and Country Club.

The three-time majors winner from Fiji will compete in Canada’s National Open Championship for the 11th time, having won the event in 2004 in a playoff against Canadian Mike Weir.

Singh will be joined by a trio of South Africans including former Masters champion Trevor Immelman, 2010 Players Champion Tim Clark and six-time PGA Tour winner Rory Sabbatini.

Rounding out the list is Colombian Camilo Villegas, who will be playing in his eighth Canadian Open.

They join previously announced headliners 2012 PLAYERS champion Matt Kuchar, two-time Canadian Open champion Jim Furyk, 2012 U.S. Open champion Webb Simpson, two-time major winner Retief Goosen, Japanese sensation Ryo Ishikawa, World Golf Hall of Fame member Ernie Els, 2010 Masters champion Charl Schwartzel and defending RBC Canadian Open champion Sean O’Hair.

Patrick Cantlay, the former top ranked amateur player in the world, was handed one of the final few exemptions into the event. The former Nicklaus Award as the top NCAA golfer made his professional debut at the Travelers Championship earlier this month, where he missed the cut.

Michael Gligic of Burlington, Ont., was also given an exemption into the event, joining fellow Canadians Matt Hill of Sarnia, Ont., and Cory Renfrew of Victoria, who earned their entry by being one-two on the Canadian Tour Order of Merit following the last event in Winnipeg. A total of 17 home grown players willbe looking to become the first Canadian since Pat Fletcher in 1954 to win Canada’s National Open title.

Four more exemptions into the field will be handed out at the Final Monday Qualifier at Heron Point Golf Links near Hamilton, Ont., on July 23rd.
