GOOD

Christine Sinclair

The world won't soon forget the earthquake that struck Haiti two years ago, but the only force of nature ripping through the small Caribbean nation this January was the native of Burnaby, B.C. Sinclair was in a far from sympathetic mood Thursday night as she tore through the Haitian women's soccer team, scoring four goals in a 6-0 rout that will, the Canadian team hopes, set it on the road to the London Olympics.

BAD

Prince Fielder

So apparently nobody wants a home-run machine who has averaged 40 bombs a year over the last five years? The wait goes on for Cecil's son, who will set a record as the latest to sign a nine-figure contract offer whenever he inks on the dotted line, but as a Scott Boras client, he should have seen it coming. After all, the only two others forced to wait until January before signing a $100-million-plus deal, Matt Holliday and Carlos Beltran, were both Boras clients, too.

Roger Goodell

London must be overjoyed. First it gets the Olympics, then come the fall it gets its very own Buffalo Bills. Boasting a 15-65 record over the past five seasons, for the next three years the St. Louis Rams have signed on to play one game per season at Wembley Stadium, a venue that last year failed to sell out for an NFL game for the first time in five contests. And as the Bills have consistently shown in Toronto, there's nothing like a winner to draw in the crowds.

Deron Williams

The Nets' guard wants everyone to know he's happy to play ball with New Jersey – as long as it signs Dwight Howard. There's nothing like putting a gun to your team's head, though it's not exactly a surprising development – even the uninitiated knows you need at least two, preferably three, star players to compete in the NBA these days. Makes you wonder why people even bother going to Raptor games.

Pelé

Who knew the King of Football was also the King of Backhanded compliments? The former Brazil great talked up three-time world player of the year Lionel Messi on Friday – to a point. "I like Messi a lot, he's a great player," Pelé told Le Monde when asked who his favourite current player is. "Technically, we're practically at the same level." Ouch.
