Pittsburgh Penguins star forward Evgeni Malkin is out with a lower-body injury and will miss Sunday's NHL all-star game in Columbus.

The Penguins made the announcement Thursday and say there is no timetable for Malkin's return.

Malkin missed parts of the Penguins' 3-2 overtime loss Tuesday against Philadelphia and sat out all of Pittsburgh's game Wednesday in Chicago.

He is currently third in the league with 51 points (19 goals, 32 assists) in 45 games this season.
