FIVE GAMES TO WATCH

Sabres at Jets

This will be a big Eastern Conference matchup in the fight (okay, turtle race) for the last playoff spot. Monday, 8 p.m., TSN-Jets, NBC Sports Network.

Bruins at Maple Leafs

The Leafs need to take advantage of the stumbling Bruins to bolster their confidence. Beating Boston for the first time this season would give new coach Randy Carlyle’s playoff mission a huge boost. Tuesday, 7 p.m., Sportsnet Ontario.

Maple Leafs at Penguins

This is a tough one for the Leafs, getting Pittsburgh on the road in the second of back-to-back games. But that’s what happens to teams that let things slip. Wednesday, 7:30 p.m., TSN.

Lightning at Capitals

The Maple Leafs wish there was some way for both teams to lose, since both want that final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, too. Thursday, 7 p.m., NHL Network U.S., NESN.

Flyers at Maple Leafs

Another tough back-to-back set for the Leafs, opening against the Flyers Saturday. They’ll need at least a point before heading to Washington to play the Capitals the next night. Saturday, 7 p.m., CBC.
