A proposed arena to NHL standards for Quebec City is shown in an artist's rendering released on Thursday, October 11, 2012.The Canadian Press

A very quick bit of hockey-related news, the artist's rendering of what the new Quebec City arena will look like has just been released in a snazzy YouTube video you can find here.

If you can't be bothered to click, the best description I can come up with is it's going to have a definite cereal bowl-y shape to it - with an airport terminal grafted on to one side as the main foyer.

I'm sure it will be beautiful. Just not overly adventurous or captivating design-wise - $400 million doesn't go as far as it used to.

The City of Quebec has also set up a web cam of the building site, spoiler alert: right now it's just a hole in the ground.
