An NHL free agent cheat sheet: Who's left? Add to ...

The No. 1 question I've been getting this off-season is "Who are the free agents still available that are worth watching?" So much so that I put together a list yesterday to keep track.

As of late July, there were 70 free agents, both unrestricted and restricted, of note. Two of the UFAs here, Denis Grebeshkov and Brian Pothier, have signed deals overseas and may be among the first to be crossed off. (Pothier's has an out clause, however, so he can still land in the NHL.)

I'll check these players off as they sign:

UFAs likely signing soon Lee Stempniak, Phoenix Teemu Selanne, Anaheim Eric Belanger, Phoenix Maxim Afinogenov, KHL Andy Sutton, Anaheim Mike Modano, Detroit Willie Mitchell, Los Angeles Tim Kennedy, NY Rangers Notable RFAs Erik Johnson, St. Louis Carey Price, Montreal Bobby Ryan, Anaheim Marc Staal, NY Rangers Devin Setoguchi, San Jose Chris Stewart, Colorado Patric Hornqvist, Nashville James Neal, Dallas Bryan Little, Atlanta Nick Bergfors, Atlanta Steve Downie, Tampa Bay Peter Mueller, Colorado Martin Hanzal, Phoenix Andrew Cogliano, Edmonton Sam Gagner, Edmonton Matt Niskanen, Dallas Nicklas Grossman, Dallas RFAs going to arbitration July 29 - Andrew Ladd, Atlanta July 29 - Antti Niemi, Chicago July 30 - Ian White, Calgary July 30 - Peter Regin, Ottawa Aug. 03 - James Wisniewski, Ana/NYI Aug. 03 - Ben Eager, Atlanta Aug. 04 - Jeff Deslauriers, Edmonton Aug. 04 - Chris Campoli, Ottawa

Let me know if you think there's anyone I missed.

UPDATE Reader Bill D. offers a few names that I haven't listed: Wayne Primeau, Mike Comrie, Jason Williams, Ryan Johnson and Aaron Johnson. I think all five will have a tough time finding contracts in this environment, but we'll see. There are not nearly enough roster spots for everyone here to sign.

UPDATE Aaron Johnson signed a two-way deal with the Predators. Comrie landed with Pittsburgh for the league minimum.
