Wharnsby: More than cameras Add to ...

Much has been made in recent weeks about the NHL going around to the 30 buildings and replacing the cameras over the nets with high-tech, high-definition cameras in order to aid the video-replay judge and the war room back in Toronto in determining close calls on potential goals.

Well, the league is not going to stop there. The NHL hockey operations department also has been testing various types of thinner netting that will not only be easier to see through, but could withstand 100 mph slap shots. Asked when to expect to see the new netting this season, it was stated by a league source that they there still is more research and development to be done.
