Here's the last in our series on the historical odds of winning certain games: Game 7s.

We have three series going the distance in the first round this season, including the Bruins and Capitals (Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.), the Rangers and Senators (Thursday at 7 p.m.) and the Panthers and Devils (Thursday at 7:30 p.m.).

According to whowins.com, the home team is 85-55 all-time in Game 7 in the NHL, a 60.7 win percentage that reflects mainly that the favourite would have home ice in Game 7.

In the first round, that number drops slightly to 58.5 per cent (31-22).

Seven game series have only been played in all four rounds since 1987 and in three rounds since the league expanded to 12 teams in 1967-68.
