Coming back from a winless Western road trip, the Toronto Maple Leafs aren't getting immediate reinforcements off the injured list.
Forward Leo Komarov won't play against the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday night despite skating with teammates in the morning at Air Canada Centre. Wednesday's game at the Ottawa Senators remains a possibility, or the Leafs could wait until after the all-star break.
"Leo practised and he feels pretty good," interim coach Peter Horachek said. "He still has to get cleared.
"The doctors want to make sure. We don't want him to be going in and out and having ongoing things."
The same goes for veteran defenceman Stephane Robidas, who wasn't even on the ice for the morning skate. Robidas likely won't play in either of the next two games, Horachek said, because he's been dealing with an upper-body injury for two months.
"Right now I think what we've decided to do is just to maximize these four days and he probably won't play these two games," Horachek said. "We want to make sure that going down into the stretch when we're battling down all the way to the end, that he's going to make it through."
Joffrey Lupul (lower-body injury) and Peter Holland (upper body) remain out.
