The Maple Leafs had a successful return from the all-star break last night, squeezing past the Florida Panthers 4-3 in a shootout. Side note: five NHL games were decided by a shootout last night. Can we get rid of it already, or at least start awarding three points for a regulation win?

Colby Armstrong showed he still has some scoring touch despite suffering two hand injuries this year, Phil Kessel had an exciting end-to-end rush in overtime at the end of a long shift that provided one of those brief glimpses of his offensive talent and the team managed to salvage an extra point despite blowing three leads.

Mirtle was last seen snowshoeing down Front Street, but is scheduled to make an appearance at Leafs' practice and file something to this space.
