Maple Leafs assign Matt Frattin to AHL

TORONTO— The Canadian Press

With healthy bodies set to return to the Toronto Maple Leafs lineup, the team assigned forward Matt Frattin and defenceman Korbinian Holzer to the American Hockey League on Friday.

Frattin appeared in 37 games for the Leafs this season, collecting five goals and 10 points. Holzer hasn't played in the NHL this year despite being called up on two occasions.

The moves came with forward Mike Brown (lower body) and defenceman Mike Komisarek (broken arm) expected back from injury for Saturday's game against Detroit.

Captain Dion Phaneuf is also expected to be ready for the game against the Red Wings, coach Ron Wilson told reporters after practice Friday.

Phaneuf left a pool of blood on the ice during Thursday's win over Winnipeg after taking a shot off the side of the face.
