Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri missed a team meeting and was sent home before practice, interim coach Peter Horachek said.

Kadri was not on the ice for Sunday's practice, the morning after a 6-1 loss to the St. Louis Blues.

Horachek said Kadri was available to play Monday night against the New York Islanders, before adding – "If I want him."

Kadri did show up to the team's practice facility but not on time, Horachek said.

Asked the reason why Kadri missed the meeting, Horachek replied: "Not prepared. It wasn't the snow."

Trevor Smith took Kadri's spot in line rushes between Leo Komarov and Richard Panik.
