Not fair game: Wife of Leafs goalie James Reimer a Twitter target Add to ...

These are understandably stressful days for Leafs Nation, with the team mired in a five-game losing streak and barely clinging to a playoff spot that seemed all but assured 10 days ago. Particular focus has fallen on the goaltending, where backup James Reimer has struggled to fill in for injured starter Jonathan Bernier, who is nursing a groin pull.

For some, this was the weekend where all perspective was lost. A 4-3 loss to the rival Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night, followed by Reimer lasting just 22 minutes of Sunday night’s 3-2 defeat by the Devils in New Jersey stoked the fury of some “fans” who directed their anger toward the Twitter account of Reimer’s wife April, (the goaltender does not have a Twitter account).
