The Edmonton Oilers have acquired Colin Fraser from the Stanley Cup-winning Chicago Blackhawks, giving up a sixth-round pick in this weekend's entry draft for the 25-year-old forward.
Fraser, a five-year pro, played in 70 games last season, scoring seven goals and 12 assists. He played in only three playoff games.
The Oilers' sixth-round pick is the 151st overall.
Chicago has been forced to unload several players to comply with the league's salary cap and pending contract negotiations with players such as Stanley Cup hero Antii Niemi.
The Oilers hold the first pick overall and have refused to indicate which way they're leaning, towards Windsor Spitfire Taylor Hall or Plymouth Whaler Tyler Seguin.
