New York Rangers forward Ruslan Fedotenko will miss three weeks following an appendectomy he had on Wednesday, the NHL club said.
The 32-year-old Ukrainian, who missed the team's last five games due to a shoulder separation sustained two weeks ago, had the surgery in Manhattan.
Fedotenko, a 10-year NHL veteran and member of Stanley Cup-winning teams in Tampa Bay and Pittsburgh, has nine goals and 10 assists in 48 games this season.
The Rangers (29-20-4) are 8-0-1 when Fedotenko tallies a goal and are 12-2-2 when he registers a point.
