The Detroit Red Wings have re-signed left wing Daniel Cleary to a one-year contract.

The team announced the move Thursday. The 35-year-old Cleary finished last season with four goals, four assists and 53 penalty minutes in 52 games.

Cleary has spent the last nine seasons with the Red Wings, helping them win the Stanley Cup in 2008. Cleary was bothered by knee problems last season and did not play after January.
