Center Scott Gomez is expected to join the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday, according to a TSN report.

Gomez has practiced with the team since having his contract bought out by the Montreal Canadiens last week, but hasn't yet signed a contract. He also traveled with the Sharks to Calgary for Sunday's game against the Flames.

Gomez, 33, spent three years with the Canadiens, but had the final two years bought out by general manager Marc Bergevin. In 196 games with Montreal, Gomez had 21 goals and 87 assists.
