A Columbus Blue Jackets minor leaguer who suffered a seizure on the ice was released from hospital Monday.
A Springfield Falcons spokesman confirmed that Wade MacLeod was released from Springfield, Mass., hospital a day after he had a seizure. The spokesman said he had no further information on the amount of recovery time MacLeod needs before he can resume playing.
"It was a play that is made many times throughout a hockey game," MacLeod said Monday via Twitter. "The result here was unfortunate but I am feeling much better."
The Falcons winger went into convulsions after he was checked into the glass, causing Sunday's game between the Falcons and Adirondack Phantoms to be suspended.
The 26-year-old Coquitlam, B.C., native was taken to hospital after he was checked by Adirondack defenceman Brandon Manning, who received a two-minute penalty for boarding on the play.
Manning told MacLeod via Twitter he was glad the Falcons player was better.
The coaches agreed to suspend the game in the second period with Adirondack leading Springfield 2-1. No makeup date has been announced.
The Falcons are a Columbus minor-league affiliate. MacLeod has four goals and seven assists in 20 games with the Falcons this season.
