Roberto Luongo is rejoining the Vancouver Canucks although his return to game action won't happen until at least Thursday night.
The veteran goaltender has recovered from a fractured rib that he suffered almost two weeks ago, and will back up Andrew Raycroft when the Canucks visit the St. Louis Blues tonight.
To make room for Luongo, Canucks general manager Mike Gillis announced that goaltender Cory Schneider is being returned to the AHL Manitoba Moose. Schneider played one game after being called up from the Moose, making 45 saves in a 2-1 loss to the Dallas Stars on Nov. 6.
Andrew Raycroft has been outstanding in Luongo's absence, winning his last three starts and collecting a shutout. Raycroft has won four of his five starts overall with a tidy 1.60 goals-against average and .939 save percentage.
