Nova Scotia was 3-3, ahead of Northern Ontario and New Brunswick's Terry Odishaw at 2-4. Prince Edward Island's Mike Gaudet beat New Brunswick 8-6 for P.E.I.’s first win of the tournament. P.E.I. and Newfoundland were 1-5.
The top four teams advance at the conclusion of the preliminary round Thursday advance to the Page playoff. Ties for fourth are solved by tiebreaker games.
