World number one Victoria Azarenka has twin ambitions in New York -- to win the US Open title and star in a music video with electro-pop stars LMFAO.

Australian Open champion Azarenka made the quarter-finals on Sunday for the first time by defeating Georgia's Anna Tatishvili 6-2, 6-2 and will face seventh-seeded defending champion Samantha Stosur of Australia in the last eight.

Azarenka even appeared in her post-match news conference accompanied by one-half of the group, Redfoo, who has been a regular fixture at the event.

Stosur, too, is a fan of the group and even performed her own on-court version of the shuffle, a dance popularised in the video for LMFAO's recent hit Party Rock Anthem.

"I'm just a big tennis fan. I think it's going to be a great match. I'm really looking to see, you know, who has the better shuffle," said Redfoo.

Azarenka added: "It's going to be kind of like an audition. I think it's really fun. Actually, my manager likes to dance to it, too. See, she's embarrassed."

Stosur admitted she may have embarrassed herself with her shuffle.

"I figured there's only going to be maybe one chance you can do that at the US Open with him there," Stosur said. "I'm sure I looked like a goose."
