Winless Canada's woes at the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup continued Sunday in a six-wicket loss to Ireland.

Canada will play the loser of the Fiji-Scotland match to see who avoids last place at the 16-country tournament.

The Irish won the toss and elected to field at the Sheik Kamal International Stadium.

Canada's batting attack continued to wobble and the Canadians were reduced to 30 for 5 before Arslan Khan scored an 88-ball 47 to boost the total to 139 all out after 48.2 innings.

Ireland reached the victory target in the 35th over at 142 for four, helped by an opening stand of 75 between captain Jack Tector and Stephen Doheny. Ireland eased past the finish line thanks to an 39-run partnership between brothers Gary and William McClintock.

Ireland assured itself of at least a 14th-place finish and will meet the winner of Fiji-Scotland.
