Eugenie Bouchard has cracked the top 100 of the women’s tennis rankings after impressive run at the Family Circle Cup.
The Westmount Que., native moved up 19 spots from 114th to 95th in the rankings released Monday.
Bouchard, 19, reached the quarter-finals of the Family Circle Cup this weekend despite having to go through qualifying to reach the main draw. She beat world No. 9 Samantha Stosur in the third round before losing to former No. 1 Jelena Jankovic.
Jankovic lost to top-ranked Serena Williams in the final.
Aleksandra Wozniak of Blainville, Que., remains Canada’s top-ranked player on the WTA circuit, though she is currently out with a shoulder injury and fell five spots to No. 61.
In the men’s rankings, Milos Raonic of Thornhill, Ont., moved up one spot to No. 15 after winning both his singles matches in Canada’s 3-1 Davis Cup quarter-final win over Italy.Report Typo/Error
