Canadian bobsledder Derek Plug has been issued a two-year suspension after an out-of-competition doping test revealed the presence of SARM S-22, a prohibited anabolic substance, the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport announced Monday.

The Calgary native has served as a brakeman in two-man competitions and a crewman in four-man events. He teamed with Justin Kripps on the World Cup circuit last season and competed in the world championship, where he and Kripps finished 19th.

The prohibited substance was found in Plug's urine sample during a test on Sept. 17.

He is eligible to return to competition on Oct. 11, 2014.
