Canadians Frank Dancevic and Stephanie Dubois advanced in second round U.S. Open qualifying action on Thursday at the Billie Jean King USTA Tennis Center.
Dancevic of Niagara Falls, Ont. defeated Fritz Volmarans of South Africa 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-3.
Dubois, from Laval Que., eliminated Tatjana Malek of Germany, 6-7 (1), 6-3, 6-1.
Meanwhile Toronto's Sharon Fichman was defeated 6-2, 6-1 by Kristyna Pliskova of Czech Republic.
