Gulbis could miss Wimbledon Add to ...

Ernests Gulbis is in danger of missing Wimbledon, which begins on June 21.

The fast-rising Latvian, who upset Roger Federer in Rome three weeks ago, tore his hamstring while making an extreme slide during his first round French Open match against Julien Bennetteau of France on Sunday. He retired in the third set.

An MRI has confirmed that the tear will require three weeks rest and definitely puts him out of the Wimbledon tune-up at Queen's Club in London in two weeks. But there is still a chance for Wimbledon for the world No. 28.

Gulbis, 21, will leave tomorrow for Spain where he will work with a physiotherapist to try to speed up his recovery
