Frank Dancevic of Niagara Falls, Ont., and Vancouver's Rebecca Marino both lost Tuesday to crash out of the tournament in the first round.
The 179th-ranked Dancevic fell behind world No. 101 Marsel Ilhan of Turkey 6-3, 6-2 in the men's singles draw before he was forced to retire while trailing 1-0 in the third set.
Earlier in the day on the women's side, the 41st-ranked Marino was upset 6-3, 6-3 by No. 57 Gisela Dulko of Argentina.
Aleksandra Wozniak of Blainville, Que., fell 6-3, 6-7 (5), 6-4 to American Christina McHale on Monday to also lose in the opening round.
Vancouver's Vasek Pospisil is lone Canadian remaining in the singles draw. He is scheduled to take on Lucas Rosol of the Czech Republic in the first round.
Marino is still in the women's doubles draw with McHale. Toronto's Daniel Nestor and Adil Shamasdin of Pickering, Ont., are taking part in the men's doubles draw with their respective partners.
