Canada's Daniel Nestor claimed his first ATP doubles title since June on Sunday as he and Nenad Zimonjic re-united to win the Swiss Indoors.
Nestor, from Toronto, and Zimonjic beat Treat Huey of the Philippines and Britain's Dominic Inglot 7-5, 6-7 (4-7), 10-5.
Nestor is preparing to split with current partner Max Mirnyi of Belarus after two seasons together. The Canadian will begin teaming with India's Mahesh Bhupathi in 2013.
In the interim, Zimonjic and Nestor —who partnered between 2007 and 2010 — agreed to join up for the Basel tournament.
"Of course it's great to get another trophy here and to do it for old times sake is even better," said Nestor. "It was great to play again with Nenad, it shows how well were able to jell again in a short period of time this week."
Nestor now owns 80 career doubles titles with an 80-51 record in finals, including the French Open with Mirnyi last spring.
Nestor and Mirnyi last won a title at Queen's Club, London, prior to Wimbledon.
The 40-year-old was playing with Zimonjic of Serbia for the first time since ending their full-time partnership at the World Tour Finals in Nov. 2010.
They went out in glory then, winning the year-end trophy at that edition in London.
The top-seeded pair lost their first set of the week on Sunday as Huey and Inglot bounced back to claim the second set and take the final into a match tiebreak, where Nestor and Zimonjic dominated for the win in just over 90 minutes.
The winners fired eight aces and broke twice.
"It's always fun to play with Nenad. It's nice to have him on the same side of the net again. We had a lot of success as a team before," said Nestor.
"He played great today, coming up with big serves when we needed them to close out the match."
Nestor has now won four Basel titles with two partners, Mark Knowles in 2003 and 2006 plus Zimonjic three years ago. He and Mirnyi were runners-up in 2011.
