Winnipeg natives Jeff Stoughton and Mike McEwen advanced to the final at the $100,000 BDO Canadian Open on Saturday.



Stoughton moved on with an 8-6 victory over Glenn Howard of Coldwater, Ont., after scoring four in the first end.



McEwen meanwhile scored four in the sixth end to cruise by Sweden's Niklas Edin 8-2 at the second leg of the Capital One Grand Slam of Curling.



Stoughton and McEwen will meet in the final Sunday.



Earlier Saturday, Stoughton defeated Olympic champion Kevin Martin of Edmonton 5-2 in the quarter-finals.



McEwen moved into the semis with a 6-5 win over Jean-Michel Menard of Levis, Que.
