The Montreal Impact have added some depth by signing Canadian goalkeeper Greg Sutton.
The Impact, who make their debut in MLS next season, also have former MLS 'keeper of the year Donovan Ricketts and Evan Bush in goal.
The 34-year-old Sutton, who lives in Laval, Que., played in Montreal from 2001 to 2006, becoming the team's goalkeeping leader with 67 career shutouts, 72 wins and 132 games played.
"His experience in MLS, with Toronto FC in their inaugural season and with New York, as well as his experience with the Impact franchise, makes him a terrific fit for our organization," Montreal head coach Jesse Marsch in a statement. "His addition to our goalkeeping corps gives us great depth, knowledge and talent at that position."
Sutton started the 2011 season with the New York Red Bulls in MLS, registering three wins, two losses and five ties in 10 starts. He was then loaned to the Impact on July 15, in the North American second division, playing one game.
The six-foot-five goalie has played 50 career games in MLS, including 48 starts, and has a record of 14-21-15 with 11 shutouts.
He has 16 caps for Canada.
