Inter Milan has reached a deal with Bayer Munich to sign midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri.

On Thursday the Serie A side confirmed the agreement between the clubs, adding that the deal still had to be signed.

Shaqiri is expected to arrive in Milan in the next 24 hours to complete the move.

Neither club has disclosed details of the deal, but reports say Inter will take the Switzerland international on loan until the end of the season, when it will then be obliged to make the move permanent.

Inter will reportedly pay 15 million euros ($18-million) for Shaqiri, with the 23-year-old signing a contract until 2019.

Shaqiri joined Inter from Basel in 2012, winning two Bundesliga titles and the 2013 Champions League among a host of honours with the German giant.
